Singapore Art Print - Emerald Hill Shophouse

Emerald Hill has no shortage of beautiful shophouses, but there’s one that really caught my attention. It’s tucked behind a wall of lush, carefully grown plants. I remember thinking, what could be behind all those leaves and branches?

When I took a closer look, I was surprised by the gorgeous shophouse facade that peeked through, full of charm and detail. Birds and flowers, designed in a way that felt both traditional and fresh. Some original features are still there too, like the vase motifs on the pillars and the carved words on the old wooden doors. And the whole thing is painted this deep, beautiful shade of cobalt blue.

I love everything about this place. The way it blends old and new, the attention to detail, and especially the sense of mystery it holds. 

To respect the privacy of the actual property, I’ve left out or changed certain details in this artwork. But what I kept is what spoke to me most, the beauty, the story, and the quiet mystery of the place. I just love the details on this building, and I hope this piece captures that feeling.
